The IELTS Training – Exam Preparation Course contains the following.
Our teachers are all certified English native English speakers who are certified and experienced language trainers. We teach according to the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages)
The IELTS preparation exam course shall cover the important aspects of English such as grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing, listening, comprehension and speaking.
The language trainer will work with the students to analyse the current capabilities and needs.
The course also comprises of stimulus materials including original practice exam papers which all abide by the British Council and Cambridge English Language Assessment. The 21 IELTS topics range from private leisure, budgeting, politics, accounting to the government, and the environment.
Additional assignments, feedback and advice will be given to the students on the writing tasks which will be marked, to provide a concrete assessment of his or her progress.
We teach in groups of up to eight students.
Materials including the IELTS Manuel, lesson plans, grammar sheets and stimuli materials for the 6-week 24-hour course include:
3 Writing Task one essays including marking and feedback and one mock test
3 Writing Task two essays including marking and feedback and one mock test
2 Full 40 question reading tests including 1 for the mock test
2 Full 40 question listening tests including 1 for the mock test
1 Full speaking practice question set with 20 possible IELTS questions for speaking plus 1 for the mock test
IELTS GENERAL INFORMATION:
How to maximise your IELTS score, manage time and learn the structure of the exam.
The do´s and don´ts of reading, writing, listening and speaking.
GENERAL IELTS WRITING TASK 1:
How to:
-determine what type of letter to write according to the different themes given in the tasks. (formal, semiformal and informal).
-organise your letter and sentences using appropriate wording and articulation for the different types of letters
-avoid losing points and how to gain points by following simple techniques.
-improve your grammar skills and use of proper punctuation such as the Oxford comma!
ACADEMIC IELTS WRITING TASK 1:
How to:
-use the correct techniques, grammar, organization, tenses and appropriate academic wording, including paraphrasing for the description of the different graphs.
-avoid losing points and maximise points using cohesive devices, academic vocabulary and articulation.
-improve your vocabulary, grammar skills and the use of correct punctuation.
GENERAL and ACADEMIC WRITING TASK 2:
How to:
-determine what kind of essay to write and how to write a theses statement for the introduction.
-write a discursive or an opinion essay concisely and succinctly, using academic vocabulary and complex sentence structures.
-improve grammar skills and punctuation! Eliminate incorrect use of vocabulary. Learn different techniques on how to utilise the IELTS language tools provided to the student to self-instruct him/herself during the exam. Build more complex vocabulary and write coherently.
GENERAL and ACADEMIC READING:
How to:
find the answers quickly and correctly and identify the location of the answers by skimming and scanning.
-understand words you are not familiar with.
-identify and answer the different types of question types (heading, gap filling, true false not given, multiple-choice, etc…) within the required amount of given time.
GENERAL and ACADEMIC LISTENING:
Identifying different question types. Get acquainted with different accents to understand the answers. How to make predictions. What to look out for when transferring your answers.

GENERAL and ACADEMIC SPEAKING:
Understanding what the examiner is looking for and identify various questions and answering accordingly. How to prepare for the different possible questions that could be asked using the correct tenses.
The purpose of this IELTS EXAM intensive training shall help the student to:
Understand the most pertinent information needed to achieve a high score in IELTS.
Improve and gain confidence in his/her writing skills in writing task one and two.
Use efficient language, grammar, articulation and pronunciation in the IELTS speaking exam.
Understand and answer the questions correctly within the required given time.
Please kindly take note:
IELTS is not based on a rote learning system, but meaningful learning! LETA´s role is to support the individual to comprehend the IELTS rubric and content. Therefore, our lesson plans are designed to teach and help the client understand how to achieve a high score. Further, additional practice will be required to achieve the score needed.
If the student needs to achieve a score of 6,5 in general or academic IELTS, a minimum required score of B1/B2 level according to the CEFR (Common European Framework) is required. We also provide personal private group and individual courses via E-Learning
